Announcement. Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro - classic smartphones in the seventh generation

Photo Announcement. Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro - classic smartphones in the seventh generation

Autumn, time for Google smartphones. Like last year, the company introduced two new smartphones. Pixel 7 - it is smaller, cheaper and lacks a telephoto camera. And Pixel 7 Pro is, of course, bigger and more expensive.

Pixel 7 Pro

The new devices are the direct heirs of last year's couple. Both in size and logic... Pixel 7 Pro is very similar to last year's Pixel 6 Pro, only the chip has been changed, and the cameras have been messed with. Pixel 7 is similar to Pixel 6, but there are more differences. The screen size has changed a little, the battery...

The main difference aboutt of last year's smartphones lies in the new chipset. Here we have the debut of the Google Tensor G2 chip. Which, of course, is a logical development of last year's Google Tensor chip. The structure of the cores has been preserved, and the top cores have remained the same - Cortex-X1. But they replaced the GPU, and, of course, there are other differences. Of course, they promise a solid increase in computing speed and even better sharpening for artificial intelligence. Processing photos, videos, etc. And if the old Tensor scores 700-750 thousand points in AnTuTu, then we are waiting ... I don’t know. Around a million?

Memory. TuEverything is exactly the same as last year. The older model has 12 GB of RAM, the younger one has 8 GB. Pixel 7 Pro has 128, 256 or even 512 GB of permanent memory, 128 or 256 GB for Pixel 7.

The screen of Pixel 7 Pro is very similar to the screen of last year's firmware. 6.7" (110 cm²) OLED, insane 1440x3120 resolution (513 ppi), dynamically variable refresh rate from 10 to 120 Hz.

The Pixel 7 has a slightly smaller screen than last year's Pixel 6 - 6.3" (96 cm²) vs. 6.4". The resolution is also rather big, but not as crazy as that of the firmware - 1080x2400 (418 ppi). The refresh rate is up to 90Hz and it doesn'tcan dynamically change, the screen is not LTPO.

The battery capacity of Pixel 7 Pro has remained at last year's level, 5000 mAh. Pixel 7 has dropped by a few percent, to 4355 mAh. High-speed wired charging is moderately fast - 30 watts. Like last year, there is also wireless charging.

Cameras. The front camera Pixel 7 Pro has a resolution of 10.8 MP. Rear cameras, as in the past year, three pieces. And even with the same resolutions - 50 + 48 + 12 MP. Main, telephoto, wide-angle. The telephoto has obviously been upgraded, now it gives hTrue 5x magnification. What about the main camera, it's not very clear. The sensor size has been preserved - 1 / 1.31". But we don't know yet whether the camera uses last year's Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor or something new. The telephoto and the main camera have optical stabilization. the camera has acquired autofocus and learned how to shoot macro.

In terms of cameras, Pixel 7 differs from its older brother only in the absence of a telephoto. Otherwise, the set of cameras is exactly the same.

Other. Of course, there is support for 5G networks. SupporteSIMs are accepted. State of the art Wi-Fi room 6E. Stereo speakers, three microphones. Fingerprint scanners are located under the screens. No audio outputs, memory cards are not supported.

Android is the latest thirteenth. Of the interesting goodies - they promise a free VPN from Google One.

About money. Everything seems to be the same as last year. American prices start at $599 (₽35,600) and $899 (₽53,400) for the junior and senior models, respectively. European - from €649 (₽37,700, $634) and €899 (₽52,200, $879).
