Photo Announcement. Honor 80 is a mid-range smartphone with a new chipset and a fresh camera

Today is Honor's big smartphone announcement day. Represented Honor 80, Honor 80 Pro, Honor 80 SE, Honor Magic Vs...

This news is about Honor 80. About Honor 80 Pro read separate news. Although, in general, these two are a pretty logical sweet couple. They have the same batteries, chargers, main cameras, amount of memory. Otherwise, the "proshka" is more powerful and more expensive. And larger.

So. Honor 80. The debut of a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G chipset. It is claimed that there is nothing particularly new in this chip. Cosmetic update of last year's Snapdragon 778G+. There are no performance statistics yet, of course. But before us is definitely a serious middle class. We are waiting for 550-600 thousand points in AnTuTu. (In Honor 80 Pro there is a flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, i.e. in AnTuTu it can easily be for a million parrots).

There is a lot of memory. 8 or 12 GB of RAM, 256 or even as much as 512 GB of permanent. Memory cards are not supported.

Screen. Deeply rounded 6.67" (107 cm²) OLED panel. Standard high resolution 1080x2400 (395 ppi). Refresh rate up to 120 Hz.same as Honor 80 SE. Well, Honor 80 Pro has a slightly larger screen, 6.78").

The capacity of the battery is average, 4800 mAh. Charging is pleasantly fast - 66 W.

Cameras. The lone front camera has a resolution of 32 MP. There are three rear cameras - 160 + 8 + 2 MP (main, wide-angle, macro). The main sensor is large, 1 / 1.56 ". It is not yet clear who is and what he really can do. Previously, no one had cameras with exactly the same resolution in smartphones. There is no point in guessing about the quality of photos, we are waiting for reviews. But it is worth noting that optical stabilization missing...

Other. There is an NFC module, Wi-Fi 6 and a fingerprint scanner hidden under the screen. No standard audio output.

The price is more than humane (which makes you think again about the quality of the cameras - after all, you had to save on something). ¥2699 (₽22900, $377), ¥2999 (₽25400, $419) and ¥3299 (₽27900, $461) for the 8+256, 12+256 and 12+512GB varieties respectively.
