Announcement. Infinix Zero 5G 2023 - good, but why was the telephoto removed?
The Infinix Zero 5G smartphone was announced at the very beginning of 2022. First appeared in Africa, later reached India. We have not appeared in Russia. It's a pity. A solid, inexpensive middle class, and even with a telephoto camera, is a rarity.
And now Infinix is announcing its successor, the Infinix Zero 5G 2023. The same excellent screen, the same capacious battery. The memories were filled up. Iron was replaced with a fresher one, but the level remained about the same. And the cameras ... Telephoto was replaced with something unnamed with a resolution of 2 MP. Well, who are they after that? Radishes.
So.
Chipset. Instead of last year's Dimensity 900, they put a fresh Dimensity 1080 (the same one used in Redmi Note 12 Pro and its relatives). They promise in AnTuTu for 500 thousand points. (My statistics say that it is more likely to wait around 450 thousand points, but there is not enough data yet).
There is a lot of memory. 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Plus, there is even support for memory cards.
The screen is hefty, 6.78" (109 cm²). The resolution is good, 1080x2460 (396 ppi). Plus, a high refresh rate - up to 120 Hz.
Standard battery, 5000 mAh. Charging is fast thoughand not excessive - 33 W.
And the cameras. 16 MP front and 50+2+2 MP rear. What as the main sensor is not specified. (The predecessor camera set was 48+13+2 MP, where 48 MP is Samsung GM1 and 13 MP is telephoto).
Other. The NFC module is not mentioned. It looks like it doesn't exist. There is Type-C, a sixth Wi-Fi and a fingerprint scanner.
Smartphone is represented "globally". I don't see any information about specific prices and countries yet.
