Announcement. OnePlus Ace 2 - the next semi-flagship
As expected, the OnePlus Ace 2 smartphone was announced today in China. Let's get acquainted.
Again, Ace 2 is for the Chinese market. It is expected to be released globally as OnePlus 11R.
The Ace 2 has no exact twins yet. But, in fact, from the company OnePlus Ace Pro / OnePlus 10T / OPPO Reno9 Pro+ 5G The newcomer hasn't gone very far. Well, the battery is a little different. Well, the screen resolution has grown. Well, the camera sensor has been changed. It's not all that important. And so on. Even in close relatives, perhaps, you can write Vivo iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition. In Vivo, even the battery has exactly the same capacity.
To the characteristics.
Chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which automatically puts OnePlus Ace 2 in the "almost flagship" category. Like, we are very powerful, but not the most powerful.
There is a lot of memory. 12 or 16 GB RAM, 256 or 512 GB permanent. No support for memory cards.
So far, we have exactly repeated the characteristics of Ace Pro & Co. Now the differences will come.
Screen. AMOLED. The diagonal remained about the same - 6.74 "(109 cm²). And the refresh rate is still the same, up to 120 Hz (not LTPO, minimumi frequency - 40 Hz). And there are still a billion flowers. But the resolution has grown from standard FHD + (394 ppi) to 1240x2772 (451 ppi). Is such an increase essential? For me, no.
The battery has slightly increased compared to Ace Pro - from 4800 to 5000 mAh. And although the charging speed has decreased from 150 to 100 W, it still remains completely indecent.
Cameras. 16 MP front, 50+8+2 MP rear. Main, wide-angle, macro. Of interest is, of course, only the main camera. There is optical stabilization. The sensor is brand new - Sony IMX890 (1/1.56"). Same as usedAvailable in the flagship smartphone OnePlus 11.
The OnePlus Ace Pro has the same set of cameras, by the way. Only the main sensor is older - Sony IMX766. But in terms of dimensions, it is exactly the same - 1/1.56".
Other. Ace 2 has an NFC module, a sixth Wi-Fi, and even an IR blaster. And, of course, there is no standard audio output. Everything is expected.
About the sad. About LTE bands. You already guessed it, I think. Right. There is neither Band 7 nor Band 20. So not a smartphone for us, not for us...
And about prices. ¥2799 (₽29100, $412), ¥3099 (₽32200, $456) and ¥3499 (₽36300, $515) for the 12+256, 16+256 and 16+512GB versions respectively.
Ace 2 has already appeared in the OnePlus store on AliExpress. If you are not afraid of LTE frequencies alien to us and "Raw, underpowered" - forward. But, of course, you will have to pay a little more. $599 (₽46700), $699 (₽54500), $799 (₽62300) for the same varieties.
