3. Announcement. OPPO Reno 9 and Reno 9 Pro are the same from the face

OPPO announced the top three Reno9 series smartphones in China today - OPPO Reno9, OPPO Reno9 Pro and OPPO Reno9 Pro+.

This news is about two junior devices. About the older one, about Reno9 Pro+, you can read here. (It's bigger and more powerful, but it seems to have exactly the same screen.)

It is curious that Reno9 and Reno9 Pro are made in exactly the same case, i.e. outwardly indistinguishable. (Only the younger one still has an additional red coloration, which the older one does not have). In addition, they have the same screens and batteries. And all cameras, except for the main module.

Well, the main difference is, of course, in the chipset.

Reno9 comes with Snapdragon 778G (500-550 thousand AnTuTu points), and Reno9 Pro comes with more powerful Dimensity 8100 (700-800 thousand points).

The permanent memory is 256 or 512 GB for both devices. The RAM for the youngest is 8 or 12 GB, for the older one it is always strictly 16 GB. The older version Reno9 and all versions of the "firmware" have faster LPDDR5 / UFS3.1 memory. The younger varieties of Reno9 have older and slower memory. No one supports memory cards.

The screens are large and solid. AMOLED-matrix with a diagonal of 6.7 "(108cm²), standard high resolution 1080x2412 (394 ppi), refresh rate up to 120 Hz.

The batteries are a little smaller than I personally would like - 4500 mAh. Charging is fast - 65 W.

Cameras. The resolution of the front cameras is 32 MP. There are two rear cameras. 64+2 MP (main and depth sensor) for Reno9. 50+8 MP (main and wide angle) for Reno9 Pro. There is no optical stabilization, unlike Reno9 Pro+.

Other. Everything is standard. Fingerprint scanner under the screen. There is an NFC module, a sixth Wi-Fi. There is no standard audio output. Band 20 is missing from "our" LTE bands.

And about �Money.

OPPO Reno9 at the start of sales will cost ¥2499 (₽21100, $348), ¥2699 (₽22800, $376) and ¥2999 (₽25300, $418) for varieties 8+256, 12 +256 and 12+512 GB respectively.

For Reno9 Pro you will have to pay more - ¥3499 (₽29500, $488) and ¥3799 (₽32000, $530) for 16+256 and 16+512 GB.

P.S. I forgot to write about "relatives". Fixing it.

Reno9 seems to be quite unique. But Reno9 Pro is a variation on OPPO Reno8 Pro+ 5G. The macro camera disappeared, the screen became rounded, and charging became a little slower. But, in general, the devices are similar, to put it mildly, unnecessarily...OnePlus 10R face, OnePlus Ace and Realme GT Neo 3 are about the same, only the front cameras are simpler, and the appearance is different.
