Announcement. Poco M5 - an inexpensive smartphone, but everything with it (+ the first reviews and AliExpress price)
Xiaomi held a global presentation today and presented a couple of inexpensive smartphones to the respectable public Poco M5 and Poco M5s. Despite the similarity of names, the devices are completely different. I will not combine them into one news. This test is about the Poco M5. You can read about the second smartphone here.
The Poco M5 has no twins yet - thanks to a fresh and rare chipset. But, of course, if you look closely, it's easy to see that it is very similar to Poco M4 5G India. But not a twin, no. The "Indian" has one camera less and has support for 5G networks.And the chips, of course, are different. Although close.
Let me remind you that the "Indian" is made on the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset of 2020 (about 350 thousand AnTuTu points). And Poco M5 has Helio G99 inside. The same set of cores, the same GPU. Just cut off the 5G modem. But the technical process has improved - 6 nm instead of 7 nm. Performance? So far, only one result in AnTuTu has got into my networks - 371919. That is. plus or minus the same.
Memory. We were a little greedy - well, after all, we have a state employee, albeit a modern one. 4 or 6 GB of RAM, 64 or 128 GB of permanent memory. Support for memory cards is (separate tray).
An IPS screen with a somewhat old-fashioned waterdrop notch. Diagonal 6.58 "(104 cm²), resolution 1080x2408, which gives 401 ppi. Refresh rate slightly increased to 90 Hz.
The usual good 5000 mAh battery. Charging is 18 W, but the included charger is even slightly better, 22.5 W.
A simple front camera with a resolution of 5 MP (8 MP for the "Indian"). The rear camera is triple, 50 + 2 + 2 MP - main, macro, depth sensor (the "Indian" does not have a macro camera).
There is NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, Type-C, IR emitter, gyroscope and side fingerprint scannertsev.
The start of sales is scheduled for September 6, i.е. for tomorrow. And it will take place on AliExpress. The price will be $149 (₽10100), $169 (₽11500) and $189 (₽12900) for versions 4+64, 8+128 and 6+128 GB, respectively.
Additional coupons that could drop the price by another $22, apparently, will not be available in Russia.
