Announcement. Realme Q5 Carnival Edition - just add RAM
Something in Realme got lazy. The previous "carnival edition", Realme Q3 Pro Carnival Edition, differed from the original Realme Q3 Pro quite fundamentally - in terms of chipset and charging speed. And the freshly announced Realme Q5 Carnival Edition (aka 真我 Q5 狂欢版) differs from the April predecessor Realme Q5 only in terms of RAM and price. Was the garden worth fencing?
About the characteristics.
The chipset is Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, so in AnTuTu the smartphone will score around 400 thousand points, which is quite a good average.
With memory, everything is gone�Specifically, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage (the predecessor had 6 or 8 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of storage). There is support for memory cards, but the tray is hybrid.
Screen. IPS-matrix with a diagonal of 6.6 "(105 cm²) with a quite standard resolution of 1080x2412 (400 ppi) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh. Charging is fast - 60 W.
Cameras. The front has a resolution of 16 MP. Rear trio 50 + 8 + 2 MP (main module, wide-angle, depth sensor). Which sensor is used in the main camera, unfortunately, is not specified.
Other�. There is, of course, support for 5G networks, Type-C, a gyroscope. Fifth wifi. The fingerprint scanner is combined with the power button. The NFC module is not mentioned - apparently, it is not.
Realme Q5 Carnival Edition will cost ¥2399 (₽21100, $359) at launch.
For comparison, the original Realme Q5 in China is now on sale for ¥1299 (₽11400, $195), ¥1499 (₽13200, $225) and ¥1699 (₽14900, $255) for version 6 +128, 8+128 and 8+256 GB respectively. Does it make sense to pay extra ¥700 (₽6150, $105) for an additional 4 GB of RAM?
