Marketers continue their unhurried struggle with common sense. On the Indian official website of Xiaomi spotted a smartphone called Redmi 9a Sport Jio.

If I understand correctly, we have a re-release of last year's model Redmi 9a Sport (which, in turn, is almost the same as the year before last model Redmi 9A). And, as the name implies, this is an exclusive for the Indian operator Jio.

However, there are still some differences between Redmi 9a Sport Jio and Redmi 9a Sport. Unless, of course, these are real differences, and not typographical errors.

• Jio supports 18W fast charging, which its predecessor lacks (but you have to buy a fast charger separately).
• Jio operates in more LTE bands, including all "ours" (including the seventh and twentieth).
• Suddenly, Jio has a weaker Bluetooth version - 4.2 (against 5.0 in the ancestor).

Let me remind you of the characteristics.

The chipset is formally a gaming MediaTek Helio G25, usually scoring just over a hundred thousand points in the latest AnTuTu.

A simple waterdrop notch screen. IPS-matrix with a diagonal of 6.53 "(103 cm²). Resolution is low,ü 720x1600 (269 ppi). No increased refresh rate.

The battery is capacious - 5000 mAh. Charging speed - 18 W.

Single chambers. 5 MP front, 13 MP rear.

There is no NFC module. There is no fingerprint scanner. Wi-Fi fourth, i.e. single band. USB is ancient, i.e. Micro.

Redmi 9a Sport Jio will cost ₹7499 (₽5640, $93.9) at launch.
