Photo Announcement. Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ - almost the same flagships (+prices and first looks)

As you have heard from all the local irons, Samsung announced its latest flagships last night - Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra. This news is about two younger smartphones of the line (as usual, they are almost twins, only the first one is smaller, and the second one is vice versa). Well, about the older smartphone, about Galaxy S23 Ultra, you can read in the next news.

Of course, the new S23 is a development of last year's devices Samsung Galaxy S22 and Samsung Galaxy S22+. And this time the development is so-so, purely extensive. Well, they changed the chipset. Well, the capacitance has grown a littlebatteries. Replaced the front camera. What else?

Like last year, lower-end smartphones are not only weaker, but also smaller than Ultra. And, just like the year before, they have flatter screens.

A lot of colors. As in the previous year, the color differentiation of the pants has been preserved. The four colors you see in this picture will be available at any store...

...But these two colors are exclusive, they can only be purchased directly from Samsung.com.

Iron. This year - no branded Exynos chipsets. TOnly Qualcomm! The chip is called Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. A "slightly modified" version of the usual Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for a favorite client. Judging by the official specifications, they raised the frequency of the main processor core from 3.2 GHz to 3.36 GHz. Has anything else changed? Science is not up to date. In any case, the performance there will be prohibitive. The main thing is that the cooling system does not fail. (Which is especially true for such a small smartphone as an ordinary Galaxy S23).

Memory. Strictly 8 GB of RAM (it will not be enough). 128, 256 or 512 GB permanentmemory for S23, 256 or 512 GB for S23+. Support for memory cards, of course, no.

The screens, compared to the previous year, do not seem to have changed much. They have diagonals of 6.1" (91 cm²) and 6.6" (107 cm²), respectively. Matrix - Dynamic AMOLED 2X. Resolution - 1080x2340 (422 ppi and 390 ppi respectively). Refresh rate up to 120Hz, ultra high brightness. As before, there is no full-fledged LTPO. Refresh rate - from 48 to 120 Hz. From 1 Hz - only for Ultra.

The capacity of the batteries has grown to 3900 and 4700 mAh against 3700 and 4500 mAh for their ancestors. Modestly. Charging is still the same, still not very fastry, only 25 and 45 watts. Until the Chinese manufacturers, who are not shy about putting 67 watts in a modest middle class, as before the moon. But the possibility of wireless charging, of course, has been preserved.

Smartphone camera sets are identical and not as interesting as Ultra. The resolution of front cameras, compared to last year, has grown from 10 to 12 MP. And the same trio remained behind as it was - 50 + 12 + 10 MP. The main camera, wide-angle and triple telephoto with optical stabilization. We are waiting for photo comparisons with the previous generation and clarification of information about used sensors.

The fingerprint scanner is, of course, built into the screen. There is no standard audio output, of course. But there is protection against water and dust according to the class IP68.

About money.

In the US Samsung Galaxy S23 will cost from $799.99 (₽56100), in Europe - from €949 (₽72300, $1030).

Galaxy S23+, of course, is more expensive - from $999.99 (₽70100) and €1199 (₽91400, $1300) respectively.

Of course, there will be no official deliveries to Russia. But stores have already begun to actively collect pre-orders, because no one has canceled parallel imports. Here, M.Video, for example. From ₽74999($1070) and from ₽87999 ($1250) respectively. If anyone sees better prices - share links.

Smartphones have already been shown to reviewers. I hide a few first glances (all in English) under cat. Well, look for a complete collection of links on the pages of smartphones on our website (one, two).
