Announcement. Smartphone RugGear RG750 with an unusual chipset, or what is Mission Critical Push to Talk

I haven't mentioned RugGear on our website for a couple of years now. And now here's a reason, and a rather curious one. The compact RugGear RG750 armored car smartphone was born. On an unusual chipset. Plus sharpened by something called MCPTT - Mission Critical Push to Talk. Have you heard of this?
You can read about Mission Critical PTT in Russian, for example, in this fairly recent article ("Kommersant"). Professional radio that is built on top of traditional mobile (LTE) networks.
- MCPTT is still Push to Talk. press and immediately speakri. Without pauses for dialing, etc.
- Mission Critical means that here you are not la-la, but everything is serious. Human lives are at stake, etc. Those. such networks can be used by the ISMS, security services, etc. In short, everything is tailored for corporate and government clients, and not for hunting tourists.
- Because we have LTE here, i.e. communication channels are wide and multi-megabit, then MCPTT is not only about voice, but also about the transfer of significant amounts of data. For example, video. But how this is implemented in practice, I have no idea.
I.e. mobile operator buildt under the customer a private MCPTT-network based on its mobile network. And RugGear RG750 is a smartphone for working in such a private network. Those. on the one hand, it is still an ordinary classic Android smartphone with GMS. But, on the other hand, it has a dedicated "press and talk" button, there is a kind of wheel for switching ... channels (probably). Plus some special software to set up all this joy.
Let's talk about the usual "smartphone" characteristics of the RugGear RG750. Before us is a smartphone-armored car with a very small by modern standards erandom
Protection. There is not much to talk about here. IP68 and MIL-STD-810H declared. No details. Those. the device is clearly not afraid of water, but what else is there is unclear.
The chipset is unusual. Previously, we have not seen it in smartphones. It's called Qualcomm QCM4290. Released in 2021 and positioned as a chipset for the "Internet of Things". The performance is similar to Snapdragon 662 and Snapdragon 665, which means that in AnTuTu you can expect from a smartphone in the region of 200 thousand points. Those. this is the level of modern state employees.
Memory. There is a bit of confusion in the specifications here. One4+64 GB model available first. Plus, there may also be 6 + 128 GB. Memory cards are supported.
The screen is ridiculous by today's standards. The diagonal is only 4 "(44 cm²), i.e. in terms of area it is about half the screen of an average modern smartphone. But you can work with gloves, the screen perfectly recognizes such thick touches. The resolution is quite high - 640x1136 (326 ppi).
The battery is in order - 5000 mAh. The cameras are simple and single, 5 MP in front and 13 MP in the back.
There is an NFC module, Type-C, dual-band Wi-Fi. With 5G networks, the smartphone is friendlyIt does not know how, only with LTE. The fingerprint scanner is not visible.
The speaker is loud. There is a special 13-pin audio connector. Judging by this photo, it is located on the side (but in the normal state it is closed with a plug).
There is no information about the cost of the smartphone. However, in any case, it would be strange to expect it to be freely available.
