Vivo unveiled its new Vivo X Fold+ foldable smartphone tablet yesterday in China. Nothing new, we have before us a small planned upgrade of the device Vivo X Fold announced in the spring.

• Replaced the then flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with the current flagship chipset Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. We are waiting for a slight increase in performance and a slightly more careful attitude to the battery.
• The battery has grown a bit, from 4600 mAh to 4730 mAh. Those. less than 3%.
• Wired charging speed increased from 66W to 80W. Full charge time�Smartphone � decreased by two minutes (35 minutes).
• A new color has appeared - red.

In short, we worked on energy efficiency. Perhaps there are some other changes, but they are not visible from the outside. And so - even the dimensions and weight are one to one preserved.

For those who have forgotten, a brief description of the characteristics of this wonderful clamshell.

Two screens. Both are LTPO AMOLED with refresh rates up to 120Hz. Both have built-in fingerprint scanners.

A "tablet" screen - one that folds - is almost square. 8.03" (207 cm²) diagonal, 1916x resolution2160 (360 ppi).

The "smartphone" screen has quite normal size and resolution. 6.53" (100 cm²), 1080x2520 (420 ppi).

I already said about the chipset, we are waiting for AnTuTu in the region of a million points. There is a lot of memory. 12 GB operational, 256 or 512 GB permanent. No memory card support.

Cameras. Frontal two pieces, one in each of the screens. The resolution is the same, 16 MP. But the cameras themselves seem to be different.

There are four rear cameras. And the set is such that here you can encroach on the title of photo flagship.

• 50 MP - main camera - based on Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor with large pixels and optical stabilization.
• 48 MP - wide-angle camera;
• 12 MP - double telephoto on Sony IMX663 sensor;
• 8 MP - five-time telephoto periscope with optical stabilization.

Stereo speakers, Type-C, sixth Wi-Fi, NFC, 5G - where without them? Everything is there.

Of the tangible shortcomings - of course, rather big dimensions. 311 grams live weight and almost 15 mm thick (folded).

And the price. Surprised here. It would seem that with such a minor update, it would be logical to keep the same cost as the predecessor. But no. Vivo X Fold+ priced at ¥9999 (₽80900, $1390) and ¥10999 (₽89000, $1530) for the 12+256 and 12+512 GB versions respectively. And Vivo X Fold, meanwhile, can be bought in China for a thousand cheaper - ¥8999 (₽72800, $1260) for the 12+256 GB variety. (Actually, it cost the same at the start of sales).
