Photo Announcement. Vivo Y77 5G for China - debut of Dimensity 930 chipset

Vivo released two different smartphones called the Y77 5G a couple of days apart. One is for China, the other is for the rest of the world. The devices have an identical set of rear cameras, but otherwise they are completely different. I don't see the point in comparing them. This news is about Vivo Y77 5G China. If anyone is interested in Vivo Y77 5G Global, then you can read about it here.

Vivo Y77 5G China is the debut smartphone for the MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset. There are no statistics for this chip yet. Judging by the characteristics - a normal middle class, I predict about 400 tons1000 AnTuTu points. The processor cores are identical to those used in last year's Dimensity 900 and Dimensity 920, only the frequencies are slightly lower. And here's another GPU is different. Here we have something with the unpronounceable name IMG BXM-8-256. Previously, I didn’t come across it in chips for smartphones, and it’s not clear what to expect from it.

Let's go through the rest of the characteristics.

Memory. There are four options here. From the relatively modest 6+128 GB to the far from modest 12+256 GB. 12 GB of RAM in an inexpensive smartphone is impressive. But there is no support for memory cardsEt.

The screen boasts a refresh rate as high as 120Hz. Everything else is average. Big, 6.64" (107 cm²). High resolution, 1080x2388 (395 ppi).

The battery is not the most capacious, 4500 mAh. But charging is ultra-fast - 80 watts. (Like many other ultra-fast charging smartphones, it actually uses two half-capacity 2250 mAh batteries.)

But on the cameras, it seems, they saved money, everything is modest here. Front camera with a resolution of 8 MP. There are two rear cameras - 50 + 2 MP (main and macro).

Type-C, fifth Wi-Fi, side fingerprint scanner paLtsev - everything is fine with this. But the NFC module is missing. LTE frequencies will not suit you and me, there is neither the seventh nor the twentieth band. So there is no point in looking for Vivo Y77 5G in Chinese stores.

And about money. The prices are delicious. ¥1499 (₽14400, $228), ¥1599 (₽15300, $243), ¥1799 (₽17300, $273) and ¥1999 (₽19200, $304) for versions 6+128, 8+128, 8+256 and 12 +256 GB respectively. Eh...
