Announcement. Volla Phone X23 - smartphone "without Google" (Ubuntu or Volla OS)
The guys from the German company Volla presented Volla Phone X23, another Google-free smartphone.

As in previous years, Volla did not make their own hardware. Another German smartphone was taken as a basis - Gigaset GX4. The only thing is that the amount of permanent memory was doubled for him. (In case you didn't know, Gigaset smartphones are sold under the slogan "Made in Germany").
What does no Google mean? Alternative software, of course. As with previous smartphones from Volla, there are two options to choose from. You can buy or seeA laptop on Ubuntu, or on proprietary Volla OS, which is based on AOSP. Promise enhanced security, privacy, open source, VPN, encrypted data, etc.
About smartphone features. The device is secure. IP68 and MIL-STD-810H (no tests passed).
The chipset is the super popular MediaTek Helio G99. Which means that there is no support for 5G networks, but there is quite good performance - under four hundred thousand points in AnTuTu.
Memory. A little greedy with RAM - it's only 4 GB. 128 GB permanent memory�. There is support for memory cards (a separate tray).
The screen is simple and small. Diagonal 6.1" (91 cm²), resolution 720x1560 (282 ppi). No increased refresh rate.
The battery is normal, 5000 mAh. There is both accelerated wired charging (30 W) and not very fast wireless (15 W).
The set of cameras is simple. The front has a resolution of 16 MP. Well, there are two rear cameras - 48 + 8 MP - main and wide-angle.
There is an NFC module, a side fingerprint scanner, Type-C, dual-band Wi-Fi and even a standard audio output.
Volla Phone X23 is already po��veiled in the company's online store. Deliveries are expected in May. The price bites - €522 (₽40100, $569). For comparison, Gigaset GX4 costs €349 (₽26800, $380).
