Photo Announcement. Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 - August is the time of tablets and smartphones

August is the time of flexible smartphones. So the gentlemen from Xiaomi pulled themselves up. Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, the successor of last year's Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold and a classmate of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 announced yesterday, has been announced in China. Also top hardware, also two screens. similar ideology. If you bend the device - you use an external screen, a kind of smartphone mode. If you overclock it - you forget about the external screen, you use the large internal one - here's an almost full-fledged tablet for you.

In short, a really direct competitor for Galaxy Z Fold4. Or not directlyth? Will it appear outside the Celestial Empire, I wonder?

A curious feature - Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is very thin, only 5.4 mm when unfolded. And - what a joke - it is one (!) Gram lighter than Galaxy Z Fold4 262 grams. Intelligence is not asleep?

Both screens are AMOLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate. Internal - LTPO2, i.e. with dynamic frequency control.

With the screen geometry, everything is... ambiguous. External, "smartphone", has a diagonal of 6.56" (101 cm²) and a resolution of 1080x2520 (418 ppi).Remaining familiar, 21/9.

But the flexible "tablet" screen has a diagonal of 8.02" (206 cm²), that is, it is slightly larger than the Z Fold4, which has 7.6" (183 cm²). Resolution - 1914x2160 (360 ppi). It is easy to calculate that the aspect ratio here will be 10.1/9, i.e. Before us is almost a square. Agree, you still expect a little more from a tablet. Well, at least to make it comfortable to watch the video.

There are no questions about hardware. Of course, here is Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, so we are waiting for the usual million points with a tail in AnTuTu. RAM - always 12 GB, constantoh - from 256 GB to 1 TB. And no support for memory cards, of course.

The battery is a few percent larger than Samsung's - 4500 mAh. And fast charging - 67 W, here Z Fold4 nervously smokes on the sidelines.

The cameras are fine, but no frills. There is only one front camera - see the traditional hole in the "smartphone" screen.

There are three rear cameras, 50+13+8 MP. The main sensor is the super-popular Sony IMX766, which is also used in high-quality mid-range smartphones, and not just in flagships. There is optical stabilization. Plus nameplate Lakey. 13 MP -a typical unsophisticated wide-angle camera. 8 MP - 2x telephoto.

Other. There is an NFC module, the latest version of Wi-Fi. The fingerprint scanner, I hope, is still located on the side, and not under the screen. There is no standard audio output, of course. But there is an IR blaster, you can turn on / off the TV, if you have one.

The price, of course, is not humane. ¥8999 (₽80600, $1330), ¥9999 (₽89500, $1480) and ¥11999 (₽107000, $1780) for 12+256, 12+512 and 12+1024 GB respectively.
