Announcement. ZTE Nubia Z50 - incredibly cheap ... flagship? (Plus a special kit for coffee lovers)
How much? For top hardware with a top screen and a top battery? ZTE, you amaze me.
The ZTE Nubia Z50 smartphone has been announced in China. To be honest, when I saw the price, at first I thought that I had glitches. But no, it seems not. The price starts at ¥2999 (₽27700, $429). But this, however, is for a version with a very small amount of memory by modern standards. But let's go in order.
ZTE Nubia Z50 is another smartphone based on the fresh flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. On the same chipset on which Xiaomi 13 Pro and Vivo X90 Pro+ are made. In AnTuTu, we expect far froma million points.
The top chipset also comes with ultra-fast memory - LPDDR5X and UFS4.0. Quantity - for every taste and budget. From 8 to 16 GB of RAM, from 128 GB to 1 TB of permanent memory. No memory card support.
AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 6.67" (107 cm²). Judging by the pictures, it is strongly rounded from the sides. The resolution is standard high - 1080x2400 (395 ppi). The refresh rate will do honor to specialized gaming smartphones - up to 144 Hz.
Standard battery, 5000 mAh. Wired charging is very fast, although not a record - 80 watts. Wirelesscharging here, however, is missing.
As always, it's interesting to see how much savings have been made on cameras. Frontalka, most likely, is quite simple. 16 MP.
There are two rear cameras, 64+50 MP.
- 64 MP - main camera with optical stabilization. The sensor is Sony IMX787, which, somehow, it turns out like this, is not used by anyone except ZTE. (In particular, it is he who stands in their flagship ZTE Axon 40 Ultra).
- 50 MP 2-in-1 camera, wide angle and macro.

Well, the price. ¥2999 (₽27700, $429), ¥3399 (₽31400, $486), ¥3699 (₽34200, $529), ¥3999 (₽37000, $572) and ¥5999 (₽55500, $858) for versions 8+128, 8+256, 12+256, 12+512 and 16+1024 GB respectively. As you can see, if you throw away the oldest version, everything is not so expensive.
A special set has been released for fans of Costa Coffee, which can be conditionally called ZTE Nubia Z50 Costa Coffee (original name - nubia 努比亚 Z50 COSTA 联名礼盒版). As far as I could understand, the difference is only in the package. Scarfsomething else was added ... You will have to pay a little extra for a scarf. ¥4,199 (₽38,800, $601) for the only available 12+512 GB version vs. ¥3,999 (₽37,000, $572) for a smartphone with the same amount of memory, but without a scarf.
