MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Twenty-five million new customers joined Telegram messenger in the final 72 hours alone, the messenger’s founder Pavel Durov stated Tuesday.
“In the first week of January, Telegram surpassed 500 million monthly active users. After that it kept growing: 25 million new users joined Telegram in the last 72 hours alone,” Durov wrote in his English-language Telegram weblog.
According to Durov, 38 % of latest customers got here from Asia, 27 % from Europe, 21 % from Latin America, 8 % from the Middle East and North Africa.
Telegram is a cross-platform cloud-based prompt messaging, video calling, and VoIP service which was based by a Russian IT entrepreneur Pavel Durov. The platform was launched in 2013 and round 200 million prospects have since began utilizing the app.
