The Hotwav R5 tablet has not yet been officially announced. But he has already managed to appear in the company store on AliExpress. The characteristics are somewhat incomplete, but all the basic information is already there.

Apparently, we have a simplified version of the Hotwav R6 Pro tablet. Weaker processor, less memory. But everything else (including the body) is exactly the same.

There is no information about the degree of security of the new tablet yet. But I'm 95% sure that IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H standards will be declared as standard.

Chipset. Everything here is sadBut. Instead of the ancient, but more or less nimble MediaTek Helio P60, which is used in the R6 Pro, the R5 is equipped with an equally ancient, but noticeably slower Helio P22. In AnTuTu, we expect around one hundred thousand points.

Memory. 4+64 GB instead of 8+128 GB in the ancestor. There is support for memory cards, but the tray is hybrid.

The screen is another weak link. It is large, 10.1" (296 cm²). But the resolution is low, only 1280x800 (149 ppi).

The battery here is stunning - as much as 15600 mAh. Charging, it seems, at 18 W.

The cameras are simple single, 16 MP each in front and behind. Hardly worth itgive too much from them.

There is support for LTE networks. Most likely, there is also Type-C.

What will happen to the price is still unclear. Now on Ali exhibited a barrage price of $499.98 (₽32400). But it’s a no brainer that at the launch sale, Hotwav R5 should cost around $200 (₽13,000), or even a little less. Well, simply because now Hotwav R6 Pro is on sale for only $220 (₽14300).
