Massive Blast at Chinese Battery Factory Caught on Video

One killed and 20 injured within the explosion – the authorities are investigating the incident.

A strong explosion rocked town of Ningxiang in China’s Hunan province on Thursday.

According to the Daily Mail, the blast occurred at the Brunp Recycling Technology manufacturing facility, in all probability “the biggest company in China to recycle scrapped and old lithium-ion batteries,” killing one individual and injuring 20.

Some 36 hearth engines and 288 firefighters have been dispatched to the positioning, finally controlling the blaze two hours later. 

Battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (CATL), which owns Brunp Recycling Technology, expressed “deep regret” over the incident and promised to strengthen safety and security in its wake, the newspaper provides.

Local authorities are reportedly investigating the incident, noting that not one of the injured are in a life-threatening situation, whereas the air high quality within the neighborhood of the manufacturing facility was regular.
