Olkiluoto NPP’s Unit 2 Reconnected to Finland’s National Power Grid, Energy Company Says

HELSINKI, (Sputnik) – The second unit of Finland’s Olkiluoto Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), which was shut down after an incident final week, has been reconnected to the nationwide grid, the Finnish power firm Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) stated on Sunday.

On December 10, the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority stated that the second unit of the Olkiluoto NPP had been shut down due to an emergency state of affairs. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the incident posed no hazard to the atmosphere and the radiation ranges at and close to the station had been throughout the regular vary.
