Red Cross Says Death Toll in Deadly Benishangul-Gumuz Attack in Ethiopia Climbs to 207

Earlier it was reported that up to 100 civilians have been killed on account of a collection of assaults by militants in Ethiopia’s western Benishangul-Gumuz regional state.

At least 207 folks have been killed in a collection of lethal assault in a western Ethiopian state, the Red Cross has mentioned.

“Yesterday we buried 207 people who are the victims and 15 more from the attackers,” volunteer Melese Mesfin instructed Reuters.

The incidents passed off late on Tuesday in Bekuji Kebelle, Bulen Wereda, and Metekel Zone. The attackers reportedly focused members of the Amhara group. National information journal Addis Standard reported on Wednesday, citing eyewitnesses, that over 90 folks have been killed in the assault.

Another eyewitness instructed the journal that native residents had repeatedly notified the safety forces of the assaults, however they arrived solely after the militants had left.
