Three People Die as Fire Hits Russian Fishing Vessel on Canary Islands, Firefighters Say

BUENOS AIRES (Sputnik) – Three individuals have died and 4 extra have been hospitalised as a consequence of a fireplace on the Russian fishing vessel Sveaborg within the port of La Luz on the Canary Islands, Spanish media reported.

The blaze erupted within the engine room on Thursday, the newspaper El Pais reported late Friday. Nine hearth brigades had been used to extinguish the fireplace.

Four individuals had been despatched to a hospital on the island of Gran Canaria with signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.

The native hearth division has posted a video through Twitter of the firefighter’s actions within the engine room space of the vessel.

The reason for the fireplace stays unknown however the vessel was present process repairs when the incident came about.
